Welcome to one of Into the Hill’s newest features, Ruled Line Sequential!
Resident artist and Senior Contributing Writer, T. Clair (otherwise known as Tyler Smith), will be sharing his talent and love for comics. You know, that great American art form: from Calvin and Hobbes to Charlie Brown to Far Side, you grew up with them and grew up because of them and sometimes imitated them. You always wanted to be Calvin, or to hang with Snoopy. You always wanted your unfortunate acne problem to actually be laughable. But alas, no; that huge whitehead - still as annoying as ever. So you’ve lived vicariously through the Sunday paper (or, for you more politically minded intellectuals, through The New Yorker).
Today, it seems that the comic’s popularity, let alone its effectiveness, is dwindling, though thanks to the comic value of the faces of people like Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, the comic still rears its lonely head from time to time.
We here at Into the Hill we say enough is enough! Time for the comic to return to its former satirical, poetic, undeniable glory!
To that end, T. Clair will be offering his own comic cartoons, generally art themed, generally mean as a hungry bear, generally laugh out loud hysterical.
Well, that’s the plan anyway.
Enjoy!
