We love Corey Hart here at IntotheHill. So much so in fact that despite the torrent of treachery and cuss from the Old Man last month we bundled and huddled and skidded through a blizzard to meet him for a fireside chat.
Likened previously to the acoustic soul driven magnetism of mellifluent Buckley, we’re hard pressed to match the honey-drip lucidity of this Madisonian songwriter. His smooth meanderings, candid and resolved, take listeners traveling to the ethereal and back staring into the roots of desire. Love was lost and murder found in the hour we had him. And a true showman, later that evening he went off to another three at some club.
As a prize for songwriter of the year (that’s right!), Corey spent spent a day recording at Madison’s Smart Studios. Borrowing from friends and family led to mixing and mastering his new EP “Words Like Wildfire.” A quick listen showed simple production and poignant electricity ever serving the emotionality in Hart’s music. Tracks are available for download on his new website which went live yesterday at www.coreyhartmusic.com.
Enjoy the video all. May you and yours get the first listen to this up and coming songster. Tell your friends. Make our troubles worth it!
